WATCH: New Video from Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke

Plus: Singer plans first U.S. shows behind his forthcoming solo record, The Boxer.

While Bloc Party takes time off after five years of intensive world touring, frontman Kele Okereke is branching out on his own with The Boxer, his dance-tastic solo debut, out June 22. Watch the video for lead single “Tenderoni” below!

It’s a futuristic, D’Angelo-meets-Tron dancehall dreamscape, featuring a heavy dose of rotating neon and black light, sci-fi pant-suited dancers, and Okereke doing a little shadowboxing.

Okereke has also mapped a summer tour where he’ll take a full band on the road through the Midwest, Canada, and the Northeast, kicking off July 23 at the Metro in Chicago and wrapping August 7 in D.C. See the full itinerary below.

What do you think of the Bloc Party man’s new sound? Tell us in the comments.
