Whether they’re jamming out live during one of Conan’s final episodes or recording in the studio, Austin-based Spoon often appear to be the epitome of cool. Latest case in point: The band’s new video for “Written in Reverse,” the first single off their recently released album, Transference. Check it out below.
The black-and-white clip depicts Britt Daniel and Co. in the recording studio, rocking out in front of a large mirror, thus seeing themselves in, well, reverse. The crisply-shot footage complements Spoon’s staccato rhythms and sexy bass lines, along with Daniel’s raspy vocals.
For now, the video serves as a teaser for Spoon’s upcoming U.S. tour, which is bookended by gigs at SXSW in March and Coachella in April. Recently, concertgoers got a small preview when Britt Daniel performed a few songs at a Haiti benefit concert in Brooklyn.
But until the tour kicks off, watch the “Written in Reverse” video, below, and let us know what you think.
