WATCH: Marilyn Manson's Bloody New Video
"Shock rocker" is becoming an inadequate term for Marilyn Manson, whose romantic roller coaster of divorce (Dita Von Teese) and young girlfriends (Evan Rachel Wood) took center stage on his latest album, the SPIN-praised The High End of Low. We have a more fitting title: "Totally-Sick-And-Twisted Rock."
In the Blair Witch-esque video for emotional ballad "Running to the Edge of the World," the man born Brian Warner cries behind a white veil, dresses up in a suit in a fancy hotel suite, then beats a young girl who is locked in a bathroom in only her underwear (and who resembles Wood). It's total blood bath, and in the final scene, the young and bruised girl rubs the blood all over her naked chest. Whoa.
A strong stomach is needed for this one.
Watch the video below. Too gruesome? Arty? Tell us what you think in the comment section.

>> Q&A: Marilyn Manson

Since I've never taken him seriously at all (riding too much on the shock performers of yesteryear), this is neither too gruesome OR arty. It's the "Brown Bunny" of music videos. Intense disturbing (or to some, titillating) imagery to try and make us forget we just watched 5 minutes of a boring music video for a boring Power Ballad.
Seriously, maybe I'm just out of touch on Manson these days, but did anybody expect him to take a stab at a Journey-esque power ballad? Really?
What a useless bunch of garbage. This guy needs to realize he has become such a parody. He needs to get clean and quit trying to "shock" people..hes like in his 40's or something trying to be this scary guy...His music is dated, his image is lame, and basically the rest of the world has grown up so why cant he? I wish he would run to the edge of the world and fall right off.
I think Marilyn's new video is a good one, it's different but i like it. It screams Marilyn Manson. For the folks that don't like Manson then of course you would not like the video...... it's not for you!!!
I like the video, but the song really sucks! Hate to admit it but Marilyn has lost his edge!
whatever if you dont like him dont watch him!
I LOVE manson's music up to holywood and parts of golden age. high end of low was a fairly respectable record but this video is not what he should show to make any type of comeback. IMO he should lay off the absinthe cut off that alcohol fat get his voice back and tackle other issues that are facing society. oh and watch the live and music videos circa ACSS and get his fire back in some way. Trent has created great music within the last few years and it doesn't resemble broken or the downward spiral, but its good none the less.
This aging has been twat needs to lay off the absinthe and junk food and get his life together. He's about as scary as a basket full of kittens.
This last album is dreadful, and ticket sales are reflecting that. I guess that's what you get when you put a couple of cocaine addicted alcoholics like Chris Vrenna and Marilyn in a studio together. A total generic lackluster album.
Oh, and get over your ex-girlfriend, yeah, we get it, she killed your cat (according to Vrenna's blabbing coke fiend wife) and left your ass. MOVE ON!!! She obviously has!
A pathetick attempt at a musicvideo. It's not surprising of course, he isn't exactly known for being original, he's just a goth-teen leftover. He should try and pick up a few tips from Rammstein, at least they go for funny instead of the schezofrenic "see, I'm dangerous, I'm serious, I'm deep". He's none of the above. Pathetick.
certainly not my favorite song off of his last album, which wasn't my favorite album from him either...ok, so the song sucks. but...wait, the video kind of sucks too...shit.
i liked the more personal side of manson on the last album, but it felt like 2 out of every 3 songs were about Wood. i got kind of bored and now regret buying the whole album. and the white curtain/veil thing in the video wasn't that great. it would've been ok for 30 seconds, not four minutes. i'd rather have seen more conspire between manson and the fake Evan than see him mouth the words to his song while hanging on to some mesh.
not too gory or scary or whatever else it was called. sort of what i expected, considering the mood of the album. is he making any more music videos?
the fact that people are getting disturbed by this is hillarious. Manson obviously made this video for teh lulz.
Manson fucken rules!!!!! Take your shit talking somewhere else!!!! He has gone through alot the last 2 years... I don't blame him for wanting to make a music video like this!!!! Some women need to be taught a lession.. FUCK THE PRESS and FUCK THE SIMPLE MINDED FUCKERS LIKE YOU!!!!!!
I am MM fan since 2000, but Manson after Golden age of grotesque is a different person! Last two albums are lame, especially last one. He is not the same...About this video...nothing special, interesting but not shocking...I think it is unnecessary, looks to me like he want to accomplish something with a video that he could not with song....I miss old Marilyn Manson
"Too much" when it comes to Manson is never a term to be used.
Again he is crossing limits and making art in the process.
People is usually unable to deal with Mailyn Manson and are easy to condemn him.
Bringing gore to the video format is something that will give a lot of headaches to people unable to deal with a topic long used in films.Chainsaw Massacre anyone?
Manson must be ready for the witch hunt , people trying to blame him for spreading violence will see this as an easy target. ..again.
Since Columbine it seems that media and public haven´t learn their lesson .
Okay, I hate it when people say, "I miss the old Marilyn Manson" or things like that. Personally, I love the High End Of Low and this song/ video. I love all his old and new stuff. If what he's doing now doesn't appeal to you, that's fine, but it's what he wants to do. So he's talking a lot about Evan Rachel Wood, so what? It apparently had a big effect on his life. I'm sure you've all been depressed about something sometime or another. Let him get out all his feelings. Then maybe he'll make something you all like.
Anyway, love the song, love the video. Marilyn Manson is amazing.
Really.... which is the level of human stupidity?
jesus devil motherfucker! it's just a video, why the art is so misunderstood?
if he had done this shit with rachel, it wouldn't be art now! it would be a process indeed!
The art is something different from reality, many people has used the art to pass a message, to show how we're feeling inside of us, money and smile, partying, not means to be okay with yourself, this is the good stuff in the music, movie, painting, poems, we can show our real essence through from this option!
MM unfortunately seemed to love a lot this girl, and a video this way probably was based on some betrayal, something very bad that has hurt him, tell me something ... when one of us loved too much a person and this someone is the wrong person, is a fucking liar, betrayer, which the feeling gonna born inside your heart? hate, anger, for sure, nobody in this shit named EARTH,
can stand a betrayal bearing a smile in the face and dying for inside, no! we're not this way, when we love, when we believe, often we trust and hope to have a person by our side for any good or bad moment, if you have been in a relationship and you just won illusions, after the worst sorrow go away, what the feeling gonna stay?
anger!!! for sure!!!!!!
The world looks to be so modern.... but the mind of the most people still continue being so small!!!!!!!!!!!
just rap and rock are talking about the true reality, the world is not the pop music, if it were
so beautiful like a popstar sing, today we wouldn't have, several cases of depression, suicide, murder, rob, betrayal, panic disorder, murders etc...
brazilian quote: " the truth is painful, we don't wanna assume this reality"
if someone got mercy on my ridiculous english I'm accepting any help.
kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Got something to say?
