WATCH: Das Racist Rhyme at SPIN Office

It was a hot, booty-shaking sort of night at SPIN’s New York office when Brooklyn-based rap crew Das Racist stopped by to drop a set of their socially conscious, slightly blunted jams at our SPINhouse Live series, presented by Amstel Light, and they invited friends like El-P along for the party. Watch video of four songs below!

Fresh from the pages of SPIN’s December issue, Himanshu Suri and Victor Vazquez, plus their loveable hypeman Dap, busted through cuts off both of their 2010 mixtapes — Sit Down, Man and Shut Up, Dude — and pulled up pals Lakutis and Despot for guest verses.

But it was “Sit Down, Man” that brought the house down, with Suri and Vasquez ably matching wits with Def Jux founder El-P, and even though Das Racist’s breakthrough single, “Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell,” didn’t make the setlist, the night proved that this jocular outfit has the chops to make it in the hip-hop game.
