From Animal Collective's In The Flowers Video

By now, "Animal Collective" and "tripped out" are basically synonymous, and that's how we like it. Their latest weirdo endeavor: A lo-fi video for "In the Flowers," the opening track from Merriweather Post Pavilion, one of SPIN's 30 Best Albums of 2009...So Far.

Directed by Abby Portner, sister of AC member Avey Tare, the video marries the song's underwater ambience, psychedelic pop explosions, and out-of-body optimism with five minutes of equally out-there visuals. A couple of recurring motifs are noticeable throughout: offbeat ballet dancers: a '60s-era pixie girl, and plié-ing, tutu-wearing macabre skeletons.
