Watch Against Me! Rock the Vote

There’s no hiding Against Me!’s outspoken political stance — it comes across clearly in much of the band’s material, notably their latest, Spin-praised opus New Wave. And with numerous issues affecting contemporary America as our country heads into a decisive election, the quartet have joined forces with the Rock the Vote campaign to, well, truly rock the vote.

Performing their upbeat, politico tune “Stop!” in a video PSA, the band, led by frontman Tom Gabel’s apt narrative, illustrate quick video snippets of many of the issues facing voters in 2008, including gay marriage, terrorism, abortion, poverty, and war, as a lone voting cubicle stands in the background.

And with the election just around the corner, we suggest heeding Mr. Gabel’s words: “Stop take some time to think and figure out what’s important to you.”
