It was a good night for TV's musical performances: Adele and Bright Eyes — who have both just dropped excellent must-have albums — delivered killer appearances on Kimmel and Letterman, respectively. Watch below.

On Letterman, Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst led his band through a tight, amped-up performance of Springsteen-esque rocker "Jejune Stars," from his new album The People's Key. Adele one-upped Oberst on Kimmel, however, with soulful renditions of two tracks from her excellent 21: the Motown-ish rave-up "Rolling in the Deep" and the heartbreaking piano ballad "Someone Like You."
