Warm Soda’s recently released debut album relishes in sweetly scuzzy hooks and power-pop charm. The Bay Area rebels’ new video for “Jeanie Loves Pop,” a gutter-glam highlight from the Someone for You LP, celebrates another rock’n’roll trope: Loud guitars are the devil’s playthings. Jeanie’s a tattooed teen stuck with Bible-thumping parents who demand she turn off that darn racket. Mom and dad call a priest to save their heathen daughter, but it’s a lost cause — the power of Warm Soda compels her.
