The War on Drugs released their essential Lost in the Dream back in March and they haven’t slowed down since. Ahead of a few festival dates and a full-scale fall tour, the Philadelphia quartet made an appearance Monday night on The Late Show With David Letterman performing a standout from that third full-length, “Red Eyes.” They’re in full post-Mascis slacker rock mode here, and aided by some Paul Shaffer synth work, they’re able to deliver a pretty striking approximation of what appears on one of the best records of the year so far. Watch the performance above.
