From upcoming 'Curiosity' LP, due this May

Portland's Rocky Tinder and Eric Phipps put out exactly the kind of spooky, surf-pop expected from a band called Wampire. Lead single "The Hearse," off upcoming debut album Curiosity (due this May from Polyvinyl), elevates horror-show organ with new wave synth and bass wandered out of the Cure's "Forest." Delirious lo-fi vocals reminiscent of "So Good at Being in Trouble" trio Unknown Mortal Orchestra (whose bassist, Jake Portrait, produced Curiosity) coast over the haze before "The Hearse" gets sidetracked into formless ambiance at the halfway mark.

"The Hearse" doesn't hit stores until March 5, but pre-orders are currently available.
