Waka Flocka Flame may be pretty much the antithesis of hip-hop’s recent trend toward Drake-style emoting, but the “Hard in Da Paint” rapper has minced no words lamenting Friday’s tragic shooting death of his Brick Squad 1017 group member Slim Dunkin. “WISH IT WAS ME … MY FUCKING RIGHT HAND IS GONE,” Waka Flocka tweeted. “damn i feel dead,” he wrote later, adding “all this stress,” “IM LOST,” and “DONT TRUST SHIT #FUCKDAWORLD.”

Waka Flocka also tweeted a link to a “behind the scenes” video of himself, Dunkin, Jadakiss, and Styles P performing LeBron Flocka James 3 mixtape cut “Lightz On,” which you can watch below, along with other tracks from the slain rapper. Waka’s hashtag for this one: “#MissMyNiggaDUNK.” With a gruff bray, Dunkin was a rising voice for Brick Squad, whose members also include Gucci Mane. As Stereogum points out, the late rapper appears on the cover of Lebron Flocka James 3. He also delivered guest verses on this year’s Gucci and Waka Flocka collaborative album Ferrari Boyz, along with putting out his own Menace II Society mixtape.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Saturday afternoon that police were still trying to determine a motive and hadn’t yet arrested anybody in the killing of the 24-year-old rapper, born Mario Hamilton. Witnesses reportedly told police Dunkin was shot in the chest during an argument before a video shoot at an Atlanta recording studio around 5:30 p.m. on Friday. He was pronounced dead at Grady Memorial Hospital.
