Video Premiere: Wise Blood’s ‘Badass’ ‘Loud Mouths’

Somewhere in Eastern Europe, Chris Laufman finds himself framed for a crime he didn't commit

Since its relatively recent inception, Chris Laufman has always infused his Wise Blood project with a dose of hard-headed swagger. And in the below video for “Loud Mouths,” a cut from the Pittsburgh producer’s These Wings EP, the Pittsburgh native takes to the screen with the same sort of brashness he does when juicing hip-hop samples. “I think it has this brazenly ambitious feel to it,” Laufman says of the Young Replicant-directed clip, which he compares to Justin Timberlake’s classic for 2002’s “Cry Me a River.” “Essentially I’m turning down this contract with some shady individuals and then I’m framed. It’s me walking around, looking badass.” See?
