Watch Reunited Veruca Salt Perform for First Time in 18 Years on ‘Conan’

Veruca Salt, "Seether," 'Conan,' reunion, "Museum of Broken Relationships," 18 years

Veruca Salt’s reunion took a big step forward last night, in a venue fitting ’90s alternative-rock hitmakers: Conan O’Brien’s late-night TV show. The core group between 1994’s American Thighs and 1997’s Eight Arms to Hold You — in particular, co-frontwomen Louise Post and Nina Gordon — went their separate ways well before the millennium. But a freshly reformed Veruca Salt put out an impressively potent new song, “Museum of Broken Relationships,” for Record Store Day 2014, and they’ll kick off a set of reunion tour dates on June 22. Last night on Conan, they tore through their breakout hit, “Seether,” for what O’Brien announced as their first live performance together in 18 years. He said an exclusive performance will be coming on the show’s website. You can also download “Museum of Broken Relationships” via Veruca Salt’s site. “Seether” is… well, we’re still not sure quite what a seether is, but even in this short clip you can see how the volatile chemistry between Post and Gordon could’ve been crucial to the group’s success (flubbed lyric and all).
