Vampire Weekend have released "Ya Hey," the third single from upcoming LP3 Modern Vampires of the City, and it's as delightfully Vampire Weekend as you'd expect. For one, the song is named "Ya Hey," a not-so-sly Outkast reference from a band that has never shied away from pop-culture references. The video, meanwhile, is limited to slow-motion footage of bottle-popping from a rooftop that overlooks New York City's Chrysler Building. It's also likely to be the first lyric video to prominently feature a question mark.
Modern Vampires of the City will be released May 14. They recently played a live-streamed concert Roseland Ballroom in New York, directed by Steve Buscemi, and ran through two new songs ("Diane Young" and "Unbelievers") on Jools Holland. They'll also play SNL for the third time on May 11, with Kristen Wiig as host.
