Vampire Weekend bassist Chris Baio is once again moonlighting as a solo beatsmith. On October 28, the Modern Vampire will release Mira, the second EP credited to his Baio moniker, following last year's Sunburn. First, though, comes the EP's title track, a tropical thumper that fires laser sound effects off into the horizon, aiming for the orange sun as it sinks past Mr. Baio's laptop. Listen to the balmy treat below, check out Baio's recent remix of "Regular Town" by Sydney trio New Navy, flip through photos of Vampire Weekend's recent Austin City Limits Music Festival set, and peruse VW's upcoming tour dates, now with 100 percent less Sky Ferreira.

The Mira EP will touch down by way of Australian record label Future Classic
