UltraMantis Black Bring Militant Hardcore to “Biomonster DNA” Video

Pro Wrestler's EP with members of Pissed Jeans is out now via Relapse Records

By: Theo Salem-Mackall // July 16, 2014

UltraMantis Black, a star within the Philadelphia pro-wrestling scene, has formed a band by the same name. Featuring members of punk group Pissed Jeans, UltraMantis Black delivers politically militant grindcore in the style of 90s icons like The Locust or Deadguy, combined with the over-the-top theatrics of pro wrestling. This combo is on display in their video for “Biomonster DNA,” as Black dons his trademark insectoid mask to show off his moves on the mat, soundtracked by a burst of chugging scuzz. Stream “Biomonster DNA” above, and get UltraMantis Black’s self-titled EP via Relapse Records.
