U2's 'Achtung Baby' Doc, 50 Slams Label + More

  • U2's documentary From the Sky Down will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, which happens September 8-18. The movie, directed by Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth), chronicles the making of the band's classic 1991 album Achtung Baby, SPIN's pick for the Best Album of the Past 25 Years.   • 50 Cent has slammed his label Interscope for delaying the release of his fifth studio album, and has also threatened to release a track by Dr. Dre, who is also on the label, tomorrow. "I can't believe Interscope is this f*cked up right now," he tweeted. "I apologize to all my fans."

  • Sales of Amy Winehouse's album Back to Black have soared in the wake of her death on July 23. The 2007 album re-entered the Billboard charts at No. 9 with 37,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Her 2004 debut Frank also appears at No. 57, with 8,000 copies sold. All told, there were more Winehouse albums purchased in the past week (55,000 units) than during the first six months of 2011. [Billboard]

  • Fleet Foxes have added additional tour dates behind their excellent album Helplessness Blues, including a September 15 show in Phoenix, AZ, with Bon Iver. The trek wraps up on October 5 in Louisville, KY. [Fleet Foxes]

  • Panda Bear's latest album Tomboy will get the box-set treatment on October 31. The four LP vinyl reissue will include remixes, instrumental and a capella tracks, a 16-page booklet, and more. The set is limited to 5000 copies and profits will benefit the American Cancer Society. [Pitchfork]
