  • On his forthcoming LP The R.E.D. Album (out August 23), the Game teams up with Odd Future's Tyler, the Creator and Lil Wayne for the cut "Martians vs. Goblins." It's a heavy, dark track and features the trio dissing everyone from Erykah Badu and Rihanna to Dr. Dre and Bruno Mars. Check it out over at Consequence of Sound.

  • Beastie Boys' Ad-Rock has crafted a remix of tUnE-yArDs' song "Gangsta," which he turns from an art-damaged rocker into a thumping hip-hop jam. Hear his take at Consequence of Sound.

  • Vampire Weekend have settled with the female who is featured on the cover of their latest album Contra. Ann Kirsten Kennis, who sued the group for unauthorized use of her likeness, was awarded an undisclosed sum. The band, meanwhile, are taking photographer Richard Brody (who snapped the picture) to court for misrepresenting his rights to the photo. [New York Magazine]

  • Reeve Carney, who is currently starring as Peter Parker in U2's Spider-Man musical, will play Jeff Buckley in a biopic of the late singer-songwriter. The movie will trace his life until his tragic death from drowning at age 30; shooting is expected to begin next year. "We are over the moon that Reeve has agreed to take on this challenging role," said Buckley's mother Mary Guibert, who is the executive producer. "He's been getting ready for this all his life. It certainly doesn't hurt that he looks so much like Jeff." [NME]

  • Ryan Adams has announced a solo acoustic tour to coincide with the release of his new album Ashes & Fire — the singer-songwriter's first U.S. shows since 2009. The eight-date trek starts on October 11 in San Diego, CA and ends on October 21 in Seattle, WA. [Pax-Am Records]
