Ty Segall Shares ‘Sleeper’ Tour Dates in Latest Goofy Video

Ty Segall, 'Sleeper,' tour, video trailer

Ty Segall will soon be sleepwalking to a city near you. The garage-punk hero recently announced, in the form of an offbeat video, that he’ll be releasing a new album called Sleeper on August 20 via Drag City. Today came the announcement, again in charmingly silly-video form, that he’ll be touring behind that album. “Time for tour, sleepyhead,” a voice can be heard telling the drowsing artist. Much evil cackling ensues.

The dates kick off with a stop at Paris’ City Sounds Festival on July 19. Segall’s first scheduled U.S. date comes August 1 in Santa Cruz, California, and he’ll play a handful of shows in huge cities like New York and Los Angeles as well as smaller burgs like Boise, Idaho, and Reno, Nevada. The last gig currently on his slate is the ATP End of an Era festival in Britain this December. Depending on the show, his support will include Daughn Gibson (check out his Essential All Hell), Sic Alps frontman Mike Donovan, William Tyler (check out his Essential Impossible Truth), and/or Old Light.

Segall put out three albums in 2012, including his Essential Twins, and he’s also prepping a full-length with his other band, Fuzz. His psych-disco instrumental showed up on a recent charity single, and he covered T. Rex for Record Store Day.
