Travis Barker, stickman for SoCal pop-punks (+44), has departed the band's European tour after re-injuring his previously fractured arm, NME.com reports. The original damage occurred while filming the video for his band's first single, "When Your Heart Stops Beating," last September (read more). The tour will carry on sans Barker, with drummer Gil Sharone (Fishbone, Stolen Babies, and the Fratellis, among others) filling his shoes temporarily. Barker is set to return to Los Angeles for treatment.

In other blink-182-offshoot news, Tom DeLonge's Angels & Airwaves have returned to the studio to pen the follow-up to their anthemic 2006 debut, We Don't Need to Whisper, a post on the band's website reveals. "After much thought and consideration, the band got together and decided that it was time to regroup and write their second record," the post reads. The recording process will go down in DeLonge's new Macbeth studio, in which "thousands of electrical wires have been plugged in during the past week to get everything ready for the recording process."
