The Transit War Avoid Tornado, Write Track

Exclusive! Download the Transit War's "Radar" -- a catchy cut about a psycho weatherman.

San Diego's the Transit War aren't used to experiencing tornadoes in their beachside hometown, so when the quartet got stuck in a Nebraska twister on their last tour, they decided to write a song about it. "Radar," a chiming pop-punk track off Miss Your Face (out Oct. 3), features a "twisted weatherman who has control over someone's night, over someone's life," bassist/vocalist Mike Frey told SPIN.com. And though Frey admits his band hails from where it's "75-degrees and sunny everyday," they channeled their sonic efforts into achieving the sense of a forming momentous funnel cloud. "There's a lot of percussion to build the energy, like a building storm," he said.
