Tour Updates: Tool, Fall Out Boy

According ToolShed, a fan website dedicated to alt-rock heavyweights Tool, Maynard James Keenan and Co. will soon announce the cancellation of the band’s spring tour due to drummer Danny Carey’s unhealed arm. As previously reported (read more), Tool was forced to reschedule their second tour behind the band’s 2006 effort 10,000 Days when Carey tore his bicep, an injury requiring surgery. And now ToolShed reports the outing will be completely derailed for Carey’s arm may require additional surgery to fully heal.

In additional tour news, the Honda Civic Tour, featuring Fall Out Boy and supporting acts (+44), the Academy Is…, Cobra Starship, and Paul Wall, has been delayed due to “personal issues” within the pop punk headliners. The first 18 shows of the 40-date outing, gigs slated for the West Coast and Southwestern regions of the U.S., have been rescheduled and pinned onto the rear of the tour. Only one performance, a Sacramento appearance originally listed for May 1, was unable to be rescheduled. “Unfortunately, because of some personal issues we had to delay the tour a few weeks,” bassist Pete Wentz said in a statement posted to the band’s website. “We want to put on the best possible show we can and know that this extra couple of weeks will give us the time to put ourselves in the right place to put on the best show we can.” Fans holding tickets for those rescheduled shows can either use their existing ticket on the new show date, or get a refund at the point of purchase.
