Tour Updates: KROQ Weenie Roast, All Smiles

The Killers, Interpol, and Queens of the Stone Age have signed on to appear at the KROQ Weenie Roast y Fiesta, the newly expanded moniker for the Southern California radio station’s annual music festival, slated for May 19 at the Verizon Amphitheater in Irvine, CA. Korn, Linkin Park, Peter Bjorn and John, 30 Seconds to Mars, the Bravery, Rise Against, Bad Religion, Social Distortion, Silversun Pickups, Plain White T’s, Rancid’s Tim Armstrong, and Tiger Army will round off the bill for the event’s 2007 installment. Abiding by the concert’s fresh Spanish flavor, tickets for the KROQ Weenie Roast will go on sale this Cinco de Mayo (May 5) at noon via Ticketmaster.

Former Grandaddy guitarist Jim Fairchild is All Smiles, in name and surely demeanor, as the newborn solo act confirms details to take his bombastic indie pop on the road alongside Portland, OR’s Menomena, in support of the April 24 release of All Smiles’ debut record Ten Readings of a Warning. Kicking off in Eugene, OR, the 14-date outing will then lead the duo down the West Coast, stopping through cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego before trekking throughout southwestern outposts such as Phoenix, Austin, and Dallas. Finally, All Smiles and Menomena will head north for a pair of shows in America’s heartland.
