Tour Updates: Family Values, Decemberists

Press conference pioneering tour, Korn’s Family Values hard rock extravaganza, has added dates and venues to the previously announced cities slated for this summer’s tour installment. Fans can now mark their calendars and expect co-headliners Korn and Evanescence and supporting acts Atreyu, Flyleaf, Hellyeah (featuring members of Pantera and Mudvayne), and Trivium to kick off their 30-date nationwide outing July 20 in Maryland Heights, MO, contradicting the tour’s previously announced commencing locale and date, and wrap Sept. 2 in Irvine, CA. Throughout July and August, the Family Values tour will hit cities such as Atlanta, Dallas, and Toronto.

As previously reported, axe battling and education supporting indie rockers the Decemberists have slated their July 7 appearance at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl to feature symphonic support from the City of Angels’ Philharmonic symphony, but now, the band has added orchestration to four more dates of their current tour, Pitchfork reports. At the Atlanta, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Chicago dates of the band’s outing behind 2006’s The Crane Wife, the Decemberists will appear with string orchestration, including the 82 members of Chicago’s Grant Park Orchestra during their July 18 free concert in the Windy City.
