Jimmy Fallon was very excited to host Tobias Jesso Jr.’s first television appearance last night, as the host was smitten with the pianist’s raw, emotional songwriting. “It blew my mind,” Fallon said on The Tonight Show before Jesso played his song “How Could You Babe” with a little help from the Roots. “This is one of the coolest songs and the coolest voices and the newest sounds, and I just loved it so much,” Fallon continued. The track was little more boisterous than normal thanks to the Roots and some backup singers, but the earnest performance was still moving and vulnerable. Look for Jesso’s album, Goon, on March 17.
