TLC Are Crowd-Funding Their New Album Via Kickstarter

TLC

More than a decade after releasing their last album, 2002’s 3D, the surviving members of TLC — Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas — are prepping to record a new and final disc. But they can’t do it alone: T-Boz and Chilli have launched a Kickstarter to fund the project. Posting to their still-untitled page, the duo penned a mission statement for the new record, saying, “This final album will be the first studio album by the two of us,” and acknowledged that Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, who tragically died in 2002, will “always be present in our music.”

Our final album will stay true to the TLC sound, always confronting the real issues and life experiences that we all must face every single day, everywhere. We write music that people relate to…timeless music. No matter the trends, we feel like our music is always relevant.

You’ll always have a guy hanging out the passenger side!

And sometimes you’ll feel damn unpretty!

We will continue to make music for EVERYONE, music that’s UNIVERSAL, TOUCHABLE.

This final album will be the first studio album by the two of us. Of course, Lisa’s spirit will always be present in our music. That will never change.
