Tickets are on sale now for SPIN.com’s Liner Notes event Oct. 1, a benefit featuring a collaborative performance between Satanic Verses author Salman Rushdie and San Francisco rockers Dredg.

All proceeds support Housing Works, a non-profit that strives to ensure that homeless and low-income people living with HIV/AIDS and their families have adequate housing, food, social support, drug treatment, health care, and employment. Tickets are $25, and are available via HousingWorks.org. Our last Liner Notes event, headlined by Coraline author Neil Gaiman and ex-Dresden Dolls singer Amanda Palmer, sold out in only a few days, so get your tickets now!

For a more in-depth preview of the Oct. 1 event, watch the video below. While in NYC for two sold-out shows at the Bowery Ballroom and the Fillmore New York, Dredg stopped by the Housing Works Bookstore Café to browse the shelves for literary faves, and to talk about their upcoming appearance.

And, be sure to check out video from our two previous Liner Notes events. Click here for Gaiman & Palmer, and here for last fall’s Augusten Burroughs/Tegan Quin performance.
