50 Shades of Grey, the film based on the inexplicably best-selling soft-core erotica book (which itself originated as Twilight fan fiction,) is coming out on Valentine’s Day, and today the Weeknd shared a new song from the soundtrack. “Earned It” is a slow but tension-filled track, thanks in large part to the intense, dashing strings, and should fit right in with the rest of the film’s sultry selections, ensuring that we’re at least getting some decent music out of this movie’s existence. Perhaps the Weeknd was thinking about that time Ariana Grande locked him in a basement while he was writing “Earned It.” That’s kind of like bondage, right?
