Sympathy for the Desert: Rolling Stones May Headline Coachella 2013

The Rolling Stones May Headline Coachella 2013

The Annual Coachella Rumor Shitstorm has come early with reports that the Rolling Stones may be headlining the Southern California festival’s 2013 installment. To those who thought the iconic rock ‘n’ rollers’ cut-short 12-12-12 set was a sign that Mick and the boys might be finally slowing down after one of their busiest years on recent record: think again! As fans on Twitter noted (see below) the band’s mobile app updated this morning to reveal a pair of heretofore unannounced dates: December 27 in Huntington, New York at the Cinema Arts Centre, and April 12 in Indio, California at what else but “Coachella 2013.” As Rolling Stone reports, by 10:30 a.m. EST, the new shows were removed without comment. As it turns out, the CAC event is a real thing: another freaking documentary dubbed The Rolling Stones: The Ron Wood Years will be screening on that date, though there’s no mention on the theater’s site of an in-the-flesh appearance from the spring-heeled Jagger or any other members.
