The Numerators from the neck down

Lubbock, Texas isn't known for much of anything except UFO sightings, a really bad tornado and Buddy Holly, who was born there in 1936. But somehow that makes it the perfect hometown for the Numerators, a gang of psychedelically inclined rock'n'rollers who emit heavily reverbed transmissions from the far end of a wind tunnel. The band count David Lynch and 13th Floor Elevators among their influences and have since relocated to a land that can really dig on their sort of strange — Brooklyn, natch — but whether that places trio geographically closer to you, their sounds remain positively far out. Stream "Dead" below, which will arrive on April 30 in 7-inch form, backed by "Finally Sees," limited to 500 copies (100 clear, 400 black). It'll also be available in digital form.

The single arrives as part of the excellent ongoing Suicide Squeeze series. The Seattle-based label has already delivered us Audacity's "Finders Keepers," not to mention the Coathangers' "Derek's Song," and a Juliana Barwick jam. Now we can announce the rest of the 2013 series, in order or release: White Woods, Destruction Unit, Eating Out, Antwon, La Luz, Roomrunner, Lucrecia Dalt, Natural Child / Guantanamo Baywatch, Cloud Nothings, Meat Market, and Gap Dream. The highest profile name in the mix is Cloud Nothings, of course, but we're excited to see what Guantanamo Baywatch has to offer, and thrilled to see that SPIN Best New Artist Antwon is in the mix.

Visit the Suicide Squeeze shop to pre-order a couple of those.
