The Drums Announce ‘Magic’ New Album ‘Encyclopedia’

The Drums 'Encyclopedia' new album cover track list

After releasing the skull-rattling track “Magic Mounain” two days ago, the Drums have revealed that their upcoming third album, Encyclopedia, will be released September 23.

Encyclopedia is full of magic and surprise while maintaining a serious, more weighty tone throughout,” founding member Jonny Pierce says of the follow-up to 2011’s Portamento. “We were feeling very angry, confused, and alone when we made this album, and we wanted to be very honest this time around, even if being honest meant making some people uncomfortable. We’ve left the beach for higher ground, always searching for hope.”

Below, check out the Encyclopedia cover and track list. The Brooklyn indie-pop group is offering a pre-sale special that includes one GA ticket to any show, a 7-inch of “Magic Mountain,” and an autographed poster, and they’ll hit the road on September 15 at Philadelphia’s First Unitarian Church.
