Lots of pop stars tweet -- but all that Twitters is not gold.

That's why you'll want to check out SPIN.com every Friday to see whose tweets we're reading this week-then update your TweetDeck! (Obligatory Self-Promotion: ...while you're at it, be sure to follow @SPINmagazine!)

This week, in honor of fall's hottest new TV shows, we're following some of the inspired minds behind the pilot episodes. Check 'em out!

  • Running Wilde's Will Arnett
    @arnettwill

    Why You Should Follow: For those of you who've been not-so-patiently waiting for an Arrested Development reunion ever since it was first hinted that a movie might be in the works, get excited-funnyman Will Arnett (a.k.a. Gob Bluth) has a new show in the works, and it looks like it might be just as irreverently funny. Running Wilde, which debuts on Fox Sep. 21 at 9:30 p.m., is a romantic comedy about a wealthy, immature playboy (Arnett) who's trying to win back the affections of his childhood sweetheart, a bleeding-heart liberal and humanitarian (played by Keri Russell) who wants nothing to do with his self-involved shenanigans. Follow Arnett to hear new details about the show before they're officially announced ("Hey...I forgot to mention this...our old pal David Cross is joining our show Running Wilde...#f*ckyeah") and to keep yourself amused while you're waiting for the series premiere. After all, he's just as funny in tweet as he is on TV ("Wow! We just shot our pilot!... Although now I'm not entirely sure how we're going to land this fucking plane").

    Best Tweet of the Week: He hasn't tweeted since the beginning of August, but don't worry, he'll be back-probably just in time to give his commentary while the first episode of Running Wilde airs.

  • Shit My Dad Says
    @shitmydadsays

    Why You Should Follow: It's the dream of every 29-year-old blogger who lives with his parents: post some stuff to the Internet, get a book deal, get a TV show, get famous. Justin Halpern-creator of the popular Twitter feed Shit My Dad Says, which has more than 1.5 million followers-is living that dream. First, he published a New York Times bestseller based on the tweets, and now he's the co-writer and co-executive producer of one of CBS's most anticipated new shows this fall, Sh*t My Dad Says, starring none other than William Shatner. The show debuts at 8:30 p.m. on Sep. 23, but in the meantime, catch up on the tweets that inspired it all-hilarious quotes from Halpern's crotchety 79-year-old father about everything from serving as a doctor during Vietnam to getting diarrhea after eating Wendy's. One example: "Don't focus on the one guy who hates you. You don't go to the park and set your picnic down next to the only pile of dog shit." Now just imagine Shatner saying that.

    Best Tweet of the Week: "See, you think I give a shit. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of shit? That's why I look interested."

  • The World of Jenks' Andrew Jenks
    @AndrewJenks

    Why You Should Follow: One of the more intriguing shows debuting this fall is MTV's World of Jenks, a reality series that follows award-winning documentarian Andrew Jenks as he travels around the country shadowing total strangers to find out what makes them tick-and what makes their lives different from his (and everyone else's). Whether he's following a professional cheerleader, a rags-to-riches rapper, or a homeless teen, his goal is the same: learning what it means to live in another person's shoes, for better or worse. His tweets are full of hints at future episodes ("Back from hs texas football-where we started to shoot our 'friday night lights' ep. Hershel Sims is a top running back, even better person") and glimpses at the man behind the camera and what makes him tick ("I only need 3 hrs of sleep but more wouldn't hurt"). Look out for inspiring quotes from everyone from Kid Cudi to Muhammad Ali, tales of late-night editing at the MTV studios, and introductions to some of the interesting characters he's going to profile ("For those who don't know, Pettis is a MMA fighter. Trust me when I tell you, after watching this episode you won't look at fighting the same")-then check out the show when it debuts on Sep. 13 at 10 p.m.

    Best Tweet of the Week: "Reporter: 'Did you visit the Parthenon while in Greece?' Shaquille O'Neill: 'I can't really remember the names of all the clubs we went to.'"
