The home once owned by Syd Barrett, the late Pink Floyd founder who died in July, is on the market, and large groups of potential buyers have been visiting the structure despite its questionable decor. Barrett’s 1930s Cambridge, England home is painted with a curious combination of colors like pink, orange, brown, blue, turquoise, and lavender, with wooden shelves dangling off the walls, according to Reuters. Still, 40 people inspected the three-bedroom house last Saturday alone, though the agent handling the sale suggested some were likely just fans, rather than potential buyers. “He was an icon, so inevitably there’s going to be a lot more interest,” Lisa Freeman-Bassett, of Cheffins, the estate agent and auctioneer handling the $562,000 sale, told Reuters. “He was very content in that house getting on with his life.”
An auction is set to take place Nov. 29-30 for some of the contents of Barrett’s home, including paintings and two hand-painted red and blue bicycles.
