Hot off a quick West Coast jaunt, the Sword blasted hometown fans with a blistering set this weekend, and being from Austin, the band has always wanted to play the fest.

"It's about time, if you know what I mean," quipped guitarist Kyle Shutt.

The metal mainstays have logged many hours on the road, including a stint with Metallica where the band learned some valuable lessons.

"Being on tour with Metallica, we learned how to play a show on a stage with lasers and propane tanks on it, where you could die any minute," Shutt said."It's a rough game out there."
