Sufjan Stevens Hits the Road

The man behind the highly praised album Illinois has finally announced his next tour, his first in over a year. Sufjan Stevens will embark with a troupe of musicians, including a string ensemble and a brass section. Along with songs from Seven Swans, Michigan, and Illinois, fans can expect to hear five or six new songs as well.

Joining Stevens is good friend and Brooklyn neighbor Shara Worden, a singer-songwriter who goes by the title My Brightest Diamond. No stranger to the stage, Worden has toured extensively with Stevens and has also appeared on many of his recordings.

Tickets for most of the shows will be available as pre-sales this weekend, and all proceeds will be donated to charities like Doctors Without Borders.
