New York producer Figgy used to be a jazz trombonist, but now he channels his creativity into the electronic arts. Not only does the man handcraft his own sumptuous pile-ups of house, garage, and R&B (see his For the One EP), he’s renowned for remixes that reinvent everyone from Justin Bieber to Frank Ocean, and is a resident DJ at Brooklyn’s popular monthly party Broke City. So when the young Boston-reared producer offers you an exclusive mixtape, you step away from the turntables (or laptop, or whatever) and let him do his thing. Case in point: Between Us, the 45-minute blend streaming below that includes a few of Figgy’s famous edits (Drake, T-Pain, BANKS), two unreleased mystery originals, and a whole lot of undeniable vibes.
