Crushing his face in a shower slip-n-fall accident will not keep Steven Tyler from important business — namely, judging a hair-styling competition. According to Blabbermouth, the Aerosmith frontman and American Idol tastemaker will be helping decide whose extensions are worthy of winning the second annual Great Lengths USA Challenge, which is soliciting online entries from now until November 30.

Tyler has yet to issue an amazing comment about his gig, but Brett Butcher of Great Length USA is a quote machine. “We’re thrilled! If you think about it, Steven has probably had more celebrity influence over hair in recent years than anyone since Jennifer Aniston. He’s the reason why we saw so much color in hair during Fashion Week this year,” he said. “Steven understands the importance of hair and how it relates to image. He has access to the very best of everything, and we are honored that he chooses Great Lengths.”
Contest rules and details are posted on the Great Lengths website. Tyler is credited as “American Idol Judge, Rock and Style Icon,” of course. And no, this still isn’t as embarrassing as naming an album Honkin’ on Bobo.
