Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks Doo-Doo ‘Houston Hades’ on ‘Letterman’

Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks are in the middle of a little break betweeen shows supporting this January’s casually perceptive Wig Out at Jagbags, and they’ve been spending that time back on the promotional rounds. The Pavement frontman recently sat down to talk about Edgar Allan Poe (and many other things) on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, and last night the full band visited Late Show With David Letterman. They performed Wig Out‘s doo-doo’ing “Houston Hades,” Malkmus delivering every “listen boy I’m talking to you” or Slim Shady reference with the half-smile of a contended man on the inside of a colossal cosmic joke. Their host, perhaps needless to say, was all about it.
