HBO is set to air the full footage of this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, May 31. To tease that broadcast, as Consequence of Sound points out, today they've released a little morsel of St. Vincent's performance of "Lithium" with the living members of Nirvana.
We've witnessed St. Vincent perform this song before with her band, and we've seen cellphone footage of that night's rendition, but man, does it feel like something special in this 42-second clip. It's just enough to make you want to borrow your parents' HBO Go password and watch the whole thing, which will also ostensibly feature Lorde, Joan Jett, and Kim Gordon's history-making appearances with Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl. Though, we'd most love to see the after-party.
KISS, Peter Gabriel, Hall & Oates, Linda Ronstadt, Cat Stevens, and the E Street Band were all also recognized that night, so count on them being a part of HBO's show as well. You can watch a bit of Vince-Vana's performance above.
