Spoon Flee Giant Toddlers in Surreal ‘Do You’ Video

Spoon Do You Video They Want My Soul

Spoon shared a shadowy unofficial clip for “Rent I Pay” a few weeks ago, but the first official video for They Want My Soul has been released today, in the form of a quirky take on “Do You.” It appears at first that the visual features little more than a battered Britt Daniel singing along to the track as he drives around in a car, but a gradual zoom out reveals more details: a young passenger in the backseat, rubble on the street, and then Godzilla-sized toddlers wreaking havoc upon the city. If that sounds a bit silly, the blame lies with director Hiro Murai, who’s handled similarly surreal clips for Earl Sweatshirt, St. Vincent, and Cults, among others. Watch the video above, and check out They Want My Soul when it hits stores August 5 on Loma Vista.
