Spiritualized Frontman Out of Intensive Care

News

Jason Pierce, the lead singer of British space rock band Spiritualized, is on the mend after an undisclosed illness left him in intensive care. According to the band's official site, Pierce was in the hospital and after "nearly dying twice in the last 2 and half weeks Jason has now and fantastically made an alarming and brilliant recovery and is due home today." The message from Pierce's partner Juliette says, "He is still fragile and really weak weighing in at maybe 8 stone [approx 112 lbs] but love and happiness on his side [sic]." The band's most recent album was 2003's Amazing Grace, which Pierce described as "religious music for non-churchgoers" in a BBC Interview.

Spiritualized are an English space rock band formed in 1990 in Rugby, Warwickshire by Jason Pierce (who often goes by the alias J. Spaceman) after the demise of his previous outfit, space-rockers Spacemen 3. The membership of Spiritualized has changed from album to album, with Pierce—who writes, composes and sings all of the band's material—being the only constant member. Spiritualized has released six studio albums. The best known and most critically acclaimed of these was 1997's Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space, which NME magazine made their Album of the Year.  Web Design Birmingham
