Spin‘s Peter Gaston rocked the airwaves this afternoon with a show on Radio Bonnaroo, broadcasting live on 101.5 FM here in Manchester, Tenn., and over the internet from bonnaroo.com. Three of Spin‘s Bonnaroo correspondents — college students Alex Dimitropolous, Katie Golden, and Colin Smith — joined Peter in the studio, getting on air to talk about their experiences at Bonnaroo covering the festival for Spin.com.
Breaking away a bit from the jam friendly format of Bonnaroo, Peter played a ton of new music, stuff that’ll be hitting the shelves this summer, from Young Love to the Format to White Rose Movement to the Cinematics to the Long Winters. He also spun classics from Shudder to Think, the Afghan Whigs, and Ben Folds Five, and he played a set from Spin‘s in-house concert series, Spinhouse Live. “It was a great time, getting on the air and sharing some new tunes with the kids out in the campground and in the Bonnaroo vicinity,” Gaston said. “It was also awesome to get two hours of air conditioning to chill with our correspondents.”
