SPIN.com Artist of the Year: Boys Like Girls

After a three-week fight to the top and five exhaustive rounds, Boys Like Girls are officially SPIN.com’s Artist of the Year. The Beantown quartet earned 68 percent of the votes, beating out Alabama punkers, the Rewinds. The tournament, which pitted 32 bands against each other closed Friday (March 9) at 12 P.M. EST, thus leaving the ultimate indie rock death match to tally nearly 40,000 votes. In the wake of their win, Boys Like Girls beat out acts such as Cute Is What We Aim For, Envy on the Coast, and the Silent Years, among others.
