The Source Opts for Lock Down

The already-beleaguered image of the hip-hop rag The Source is taking another beating: The New York Post reports that armed guards have been placed at the entrance to the magazine after two of the magazine’s employees were hit with attempted murder charges. Leeroy Peeples and Alvin Childs, two Source staffers, were charged after a shootout in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood in late July. “The Source has hired a crew of armed guards from Epic Security since the shooting… They carry cuffs and Glocks and stand watch near the elevator,” a Source insider told the Post. Peeples and Childs are dealing with further legal trouble: reports say the two have been named in a sexual harassment lawsuit by two former Source female executives.
