Soundgarden's Chris Cornell and Ben Shepherd recently played an intimate, stripped-down set for an Arizona radio station, and now the frontman and bassist have done the same for Los Angeles' KROQ. The two Seattle titans performed heartfelt, unplugged renditions of Superunknown standard "Fell on Black Days" and wistful King Animal cut "Halfway There." Most of the acoustic set recasts the grunge gods as a world-weary folk duo, but then Cornell belts out a breathtaking closer, totally giving away his arena experience.
