Small Black Soundtrack a Fiery One-Day Stand in ‘No Stranger’ Video

small black, no stranger, limits of desire

Speaking to SPIN, Small Black frontman Josh Kolenik described the Brooklyn foursome’s second album, Limits of Desire, as “more powerful, more confident” than their 2010 debut. That may be true, but confidence is lacking in the just-released video for “No Stranger,” a lovesick single from the the synth-pop dreamers’ latest effort. In the short, a guy and a girl are sitting near each other on a train. Neither knows the other, and, despite an apparent attraction, they’re both too shy and self-conscious to speak up. The two just steal glances, make eye contact from across the aisle, and imagine a skinny dipping, glass-smashing, fire-setting romance.
