Fresh after appearing on SPIN's top 50 albums of 2011 and garnering the distinction of our second-favorite metal album of the year, atmospheric, skull-caving sludge monsters Yob are preparing to set off on a tour with prog-metal titans Tool in 2012.

The always brave and industry-defying Tool has a long, awesome history of bringing only the boldest, brightest alterna-metal heroes out on tour with them — past roadmates include the Melvins, Fantômas, Isis, Kinski, Russian Circles, and noise-hop titans Dälek. While SPIN is always ecstatic about these choices, these bands often, notoriously, come up against a swift rounds of boos from the audience. Here's hoping Yob's monolithic walls of sludge drowns out any naysayers!Yob's dates with Tool
