Sleigh Bells Prep for the Big Fight in ‘Bitter Rivals’ Video

Sleigh Bells 'Bitter Rivals' Video Album

Candy-coated pop-shredders Sleigh Bells have wasted no time following up last year’s ripping Reign of Terror, announcing today that their third album Bitter Rivals will be in stores on October 8. The onetime SPIN cover stars have also debuted the album’s eponymous lead single — which got accidentally streamed last week — via the appropriately amped-up video you see above, which finds our ax-wielding hosts getting pumped up for what’s sure to be a big fight. (Though we’ve yet to learn who their rivals are.) As if there were any doubt, “Bitter Rivals” confirms that Sleigh Bells are still sounding very much like themselves, with mega-crunch riffs and bleacher-stomp percussion powering a track that’s half-motivation, half-snarl: “You are my bitter rival, but I need you for survival,” Alexis Krauss sings at an unnamed foe. The self-produced LP features 10 songs and will be accompanied by a lengthy tour with Doldrums:
