Sleater-Kinney Call it Quits

After eleven years, the all-female rock trio has decided to go on "indefinite hiatus" after finishing out their summer tour.

Olympia-bred rock trio Sleater-Kinney have announced that they are going on "indefinite hiatus" after their summer tour, which ends with a performance at Lollapalooza. After seven years and eleven albums (the last of which was 2005's critically-acclaimed The Woods), the band released a statement today: "The upcoming summer shows will be our last. As of now, there are no plans for future tours or recordings…. We want to extend our gratitude to our amazing fans. You have been a part of our story from the beginning. We could not have made our music without your enthusiasm, passion, and loyalty. It is you who have made this entire journey worthwhile."

Sleater-Kinney's final tour dates:

7/29, Louisville, KY (Mellwood Arts Center)
7/31, Philadelphia, PA (Starlight Ballroom)
8/1, Washington, D.C. (9:30 Club)
8/2, New York, NY (Webster Hall)
8/4, Chicago, IL (Lollapalooza)
