Sky Ferreira Teases ‘Night Time, My Time’ Songs on Instagram

Sky Ferreira’s Night Time, My Time is almost here, and now the singer has shared a handful of fairly eclectic preview snippets. The October 29, Capitol Records release will be the pop starlet’s debut album following major-label singles and EPs dating back to 2010. But unlike, say, Arcade Fire’s Reflektor, this highly anticipated full-length still remains under seal.

Maybe the most promising of the three tracks Ferreira teased on Instagram is “Nobody Asked Me (If I Was Okay),” which puts more strident vocals than we’re used to hearing over grunge-y guitar and hard-hitting drums. The synth-pop feel of recent video selection “You’re Not the One” still seems to hang over the eerie title track, “Ain’t No Right,” and “Boys” — though the last of those three songs veers off into a brief moment of hammering percussion.

Ferreira also sat down for an October 24 interview on Fuse News, where she again addressed her recent arrest on drug charges with DIIV’s Zachary Cole Smith. “The whole thing was just so crazy and, like, fucked up,” she told interviewer John Norris. “I didn’t get charged with heroin yet on every headline, it’s like ‘Model — because they won’t call me a singer, either. And ‘Drug Bust!’ You would think we were like, drug lords, like Bonnie and Clyde and had guns in there, too.”

Scroll down to watch that conversation. If covering Elliott Smith and Cat Power wasn’t enough to rile up crankies, Ferreira and Smith could really troll people by learning enough French to do Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot’s classic.
